Principal Presales, Systems Engineer (AI Networking)

Location: Remote/Teleworker, primarily working from home; compensation information is provided for the United States, including California and Washington.

Salary: USD 175,000–411,500 annual compensation in Washington, or USD 199,000–411,500 in California; the range includes base salary and target-level sales compensation.

What you will do

• Advise customers, partners, and account teams throughout the sales lifecycle.
• Design, architect, validate, and position data center, WAN, cloud, AI infrastructure, and open networking solutions.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, executive presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Develop solution architectures, implementation and migration strategies, and engineering bills of materials.
• Prepare technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and strategic partners to influence product strategy and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technical presales, systems engineering, solutions architecture, network engineering, consulting, or related customer-facing technical roles.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience designing large-scale data center, WAN, cloud, AI infrastructure, and service provider networking solutions.
• Deep expertise in EVPN/VXLAN, spine-leaf and Clos fabrics, underlay/overlay networking, DCI, Ethernet fabrics, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, segment routing, traffic engineering, and Layer 2/Layer 3 VPNs.
• Experience with RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, solution validation, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Customer-facing communication skills, including presentations to engineers, architects, technical decision-makers, and executives.

Nice to have

• Experience with SONiC, open networking, network disaggregation, and merchant silicon-based networking platforms.
• Experience in hyperscale, cloud provider, AI fabric, large-scale data center, or service provider environments.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, VMware, or OpenStack networking and automation.
• JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE, AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent certifications.
