Technical Accounting Manager (SaaS)

Location: Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA; hybrid office attendance required a minimum of two days per week.

Salary: $130,000–$185,000 base annual salary plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Research, document, and resolve complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP across monthly and quarterly close activities.
• Own financial statements and footnote disclosures, contribute to annual audits, and monitor emerging accounting standards.
• Advise on revenue recognition, equity transactions, debt modifications, business combinations, consolidation, impairment analyses, and other complex corporate accounting matters.
• Lead ASC 805 purchase accounting, including valuation coordination, opening balance sheet review, transaction accounting, and related technical memoranda.
• Support monthly close, financial reviews, variance analysis, complex reconciliations, ASC 606 compliance, and reviews of non-standard customer contracts.
• Implement scalable journal-entry, reconciliation, ownership, control, reporting-calendar, and change-management processes; lead ad hoc accounting projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience and CPA certification are required.
• Big 4 public accounting or equivalent national firm experience is required.
• Consulting, audit, or industry experience with SaaS, fintech, or payments companies is required.
• Hands-on technical knowledge and experience with ASC 606 are required.
• Working knowledge of ASC 805 purchase accounting is required.
• Experience researching complex accounting matters, drafting technical accounting documentation, and advising leadership on accounting implications.
• Comfort with ambiguity, adaptability to changing priorities, and ability to lead special projects outside standard accounting responsibilities.
• Active use of AI tools such as Claude or Gemini to accelerate and operationalize documentation, testing, and evidence workflows.
