Director of Transportation - Procurement and Systems North America

What you will do

• Lead the North American transportation procurement and capacity management model across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
• Manage approximately $260M in transportation spend and more than 5 billion pounds of transportation procurement.
• Lead integrated RFPs across TL, LTL, bulk, intermodal, rail, and other transport modes, including annual events and quarterly bids.
• Manage carrier and supplier relationships, vendor compliance, performance, market intelligence, benchmarking, and productivity goals.
• Collaborate with IT to automate processes, improve system capabilities, and increase transportation data availability and accuracy.
• Create standardized data publishing, visual analytics, KPI transparency, and actionable insights for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in a supply chain leadership position and 10 years of overall transportation experience.
• Experience leading large procurement and carrier management activities through organizational change.
• Experience with supplier relations, carrier development, pricing and contract negotiations, and performance monitoring.
• Experience managing TL, LTL, bulk, intermodal, and rail transportation modes.
• Experience managing people and teams, influencing stakeholders, leading projects, and developing talent.
• Strong strategic and operational problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, ownership, and accountability skills.
• Experience with systems architecture focused on order processing cycles and data analytics, as well as Microsoft Office applications, Tableau, Alteryx, Amazon Redshift, and other technical systems.
