Senior Product Manager (Criminal Justice)

Location: Remote within the United States, or hybrid from New York City or Oakland, California. The role requires 10–25% domestic travel across the US, approximately 1–3 trips per quarter, including visits to prisons and parole offices.

Salary: $155,000. Full-time role. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead strategy and execution for agency partnerships and flagship product lines from vision and wireframes through deployment and iteration.
• Translate ambiguous real-world needs into user-centric product decisions with state partners, engineers, and designers.
• Drive product discovery through interviews, workflow mapping, and hypothesis testing.
• Define metrics, track outcomes, and communicate impact to internal and external audiences.
• Foster a product culture grounded in clarity, curiosity, urgency, and scrappy execution.
• Help launch and scale tools that improve reentry outcomes across multiple states.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product management building user-facing software.
• Strong product sense and strategic intuition, with the ability to see the big picture while managing details.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and make independent decisions with imperfect data.
• Proven ability to collaborate with complex stakeholders using empathy, diplomacy, and clarity.
• Resourcefulness and willingness to take ownership in a constrained, fast-moving environment.
• Technical fluency and comfort working with engineers and understanding architectural tradeoffs.
• Passion for making the criminal justice system more humane, equitable, and effective.
• Willingness to travel domestically 10–25% of the time, including visits to prisons and parole offices.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping products in government, health, criminal justice, or similarly complex domains.
• Background in startups, civic tech, or other resource-constrained, impact-driven environments.
• Strong storytelling skills for motivating teams, aligning stakeholders, and driving change.
• Corrections industry experience or lived experience navigating the corrections system.
