Product Integrity Expert (Switchgear)

Location: Brazil — São Paulo or Jundiaí; the job record also lists Bucharest, Romania. The role requires on-site factory support and 30–50% travel.

What you will do

• Strengthen and embed the 8D methodology from containment through effective D8 closure.
• Act as a subject-matter expert in root cause analysis and structured problem solving using 8D, A3, and DMAIC.
• Support factory containment, corrective actions, recovery plans, and effectiveness verification for significant quality issues.
• Identify systemic corrective actions and replicate lessons learned across applicable switchgear factories.
• Review factory quality performance to identify emerging risks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Govern critical quality issues through visibility, prioritization, and systematic follow-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
• Experience in switchgear engineering or manufacturing, including AIS or GIS and associated live-tank or dead-tank circuit breakers.
• Technical expertise in medium- and high-voltage switchgear, including circuit breakers, instrument transformers, bus systems, control wiring and protection interfaces, insulation and gas systems, mechanical assemblies, interlocks, production testing, and common product and process failure modes.
• Ability to independently interpret and challenge engineering drawings, bills of material, product specifications, manufacturing instructions, test procedures, and applicable electrical-equipment standards, and translate requirements into shopfloor controls.
• Strong knowledge of critical-to-quality characteristics, inspection and test controls, traceability, workmanship standards, nonconformance management, and customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
• Command of TQM, Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D, statistical methods, and process-capability tools, with a record of cross-functional problem solving, organizational change, and coaching.
• Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, including confidence working with manufacturing, quality, and test data and digital dashboards.
• Fluent spoken and written English for technical discussions and meetings; willingness to provide on-site factory support with 30–50% travel.
