Application Engineer Center of Competence SPI/AOI/XRAY Specialist (SMT)

What you will do

• Establish and continuously improve global SMT inspection process standards across multiple production locations.
• Create DFM guidelines for SMT manufacturability and support process capability improvements.
• Evaluate and qualify new SMT equipment, materials, processes, and inspection technologies.
• Coordinate proof-of-concept activities, technical assessments, and supplier and equipment acceptance.
• Lead initiatives to reduce defects, increase yield, improve process stability, lower operational costs, and introduce automation.
• Lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective actions, support escalations, and develop Application Engineer and maintenance team capabilities through coaching and training.

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience in electronics manufacturing and SMT processes involving SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection.
• Deep knowledge of Koh Young, Viscom, and Parmi equipment.
• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and SMT production environments.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, industrial automation, data analysis, continuous improvement, and complex technical problem solving.
• Good English communication skills, stakeholder influencing abilities, technical project leadership experience, and willingness to travel when required.
