R&D Electrical Engineer (Cables)

What you will do

• Develop and optimize cables, conductors, and related components based on technical and customer requirements.
• Prepare technical designs, specifications, calculations, bills of materials, and product documentation.
• Evaluate electrical, thermal, mechanical, and material requirements for product development and optimization.
• Lead and contribute to development, standardization, design-to-cost, and sustainability projects.
• Support the transfer of new and optimized products into manufacturing and follow up on technical issues.
• Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Purchasing, and Quality, and contribute to quotations and customer technical requests.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
• Experience in product development or engineering, ideally in the cable or electrical industry.
• Good knowledge of electrical design principles, technical standards, and customer specifications.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and supporting product introduction into manufacturing.
• Good written and spoken German and English skills.
• Structured, analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including effective work across functions and international teams.
