Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States; Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $89,965–$117,212 base pay annually, plus potential bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, modify, launch, and maintain applications and Tier 1 operational platforms supporting the Network Operations Center.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
• Work on moderate-to-complex projects and support software development leads.
• Apply secure coding practices, contribute to documentation, participate in code reviews, and complete comprehensive unit testing.
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and optimize software systems, resolving issues and documenting solutions.
• Use AI tools and automation where needed to improve productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; computer science, software engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience or successful completion of United’s DT Early Career Digital Leadership Program.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and NoSQL; DynamoDB preferred.
• Knowledge of rules engines, such as Drools.
• Advanced knowledge of SDLC processes, development methodologies, software design, design patterns, and relevant development technologies and tools.
• Problem-solving, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication, eagerness to learn, and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of an interview and reliable, punctual attendance are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Exposure to Dynatrace, GitHub Copilot, Harness, CI/CD tools, Jira, web service interfaces, event mesh, or real-time systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted automation, Agile methodologies, DevOps, infrastructure, SQL, Oracle, or relational databases.
• HTML, JavaScript including Angular 2.0, CSS, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel experience.
