Delivery Manager (Commercial Sector)

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom, or home worker in the United Kingdom; customer-site travel may be required.

What you will do

• Lead delivery of complex digital programmes for commercial-sector clients, defining success factors and ensuring workstreams have effective plans.
• Manage project finances, forecasting, reporting, budgets, profitability objectives, risks, issues, governance, and technical quality standards.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, suppliers, third-party stakeholders, Sales, and Account Management teams.
• Manage, coach, and develop staff; set goals, provide feedback, support appraisals, and maintain learning objectives.
• Plan capacity, staff multidisciplinary teams, onboard team members, and support recruitment.
• Contribute to proposals, procurement, customer engagement, continuous improvement, innovation, and account growth.

Requirements

• Experience delivering complex digital programmes within a consultancy, professional services, or comparable environment.
• Digital delivery and stakeholder-management experience in a complex environment.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience balancing delivery outcomes, customer needs, and commercial considerations, including financial reporting and budget management.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing individuals and teams.
• Experience planning capacity and building multidisciplinary teams for complex digital programmes.
• Ability to work on customer sites, including travel, when required.
• For Public and Defence sector work: eligibility to achieve SC clearance, including continuous residence in the UK for 5 years and background checks.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering programmes in government, healthcare, defence, or another highly regulated environment.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and willingness to explore their effect on delivery, team experience, and customer outcomes.
• Business development experience, ideally including securing follow-on business with existing clients.
• Experience in digital-transformation delivery and leading initiatives that improve management and leadership practices.
