Senior Backend Software Engineer (AI Automation and Search)

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship scalable backend features and capabilities for Confluence Cloud AI automation and search.
• Craft and implement performant RESTful microservices in a distributed environment.
• Develop backend applications using modern object-oriented programming languages, RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.
• Ensure backend services have visibility, error reporting, monitoring, reliability, security, and strong performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, and designers in an open Agile workspace.
• Review code and participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Four years of related work experience, including four years designing, building, and shipping backend features.
• Four years crafting and implementing performant and scalable RESTful microservices.
• Four years working with RDBMS technologies such as Oracle or Postgres and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or Cassandra.
• Two years of experience with at least three modern object-oriented programming languages, including Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, and/or C++.
• Two years of experience with public cloud services including AWS, GAE, and Azure.
