Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; conditions also list New York and San Francisco. Hybrid with in-person work required.

Salary: $222,000–$230,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead development of scalable backend systems for AI-powered financial automation and dispute management.
• Design and implement microservices, reusable libraries, and configurable system components.
• Integrate backend services with credit card networks, banking systems, merchant platforms, and external APIs.
• Lead end-to-end feature development, including system architecture, technology selection, and implementation strategies.
• Improve engineering infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, system performance, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field and 5 years of experience in the offered role or a software development-related occupation.
• Backend software development and scalable system architecture.
• Designing and implementing microservices and distributed backend systems.
• Developing reusable software frameworks, libraries, and configurable system components.
• Integrating backend services with external APIs, financial networks, banking systems, and merchant platforms.
• End-to-end software development, including system architecture, technology selection, and feature implementation.
• CI/CD pipelines, software deployment, and engineering infrastructure.
• Backend system optimization for performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
• Designing software systems for high-volume transaction processing and complex financial workflows.
