Senior Software Engineer (AI Monetization)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York City, United States. Relocation support is available for eligible employees.

Salary: $266,000–$445,000 annual base pay, plus equity, performance-related bonuses for eligible employees, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and build shared pricing and packaging capabilities, including plan configuration, eligibility, entitlements, and usage allowances.
• Create plan and usage experiences across the stack, connecting interfaces with product APIs and backend services.
• Prototype and experiment on commercial ideas with Product, Finance, and Data Science, using findings to guide iterations.
• Design Financial Engineering integrations that preserve correct access and subscription state through plan changes, migrations, asynchronous updates, and partial failures.
• Build reusable components and configuration tools that reduce custom engineering and dependencies for future launches.
• Own production quality through migration planning, staged rollouts, testing, monitoring, recovery paths, technical roadmap decisions, and engineering mentorship.

Requirements

• Senior or Staff+ engineering experience with architectural direction and delivery of significant multi-team projects while remaining an active code contributor.
• Strong backend or distributed-systems depth and the ability to work across APIs and interfaces that turn systems into useful products.
• Ability to reason about data models, lifecycle transitions, consistency, concurrency, failures, and repeated operations.
• Experience taking loosely defined customer or business problems through discovery, implementation, and production operation.
• Product intuition, experimentation, and analytical thinking focused on customer understanding and value.
• Ability to establish new capabilities, choose initial designs, ship useful products, and improve them as requirements become clearer.
• Ability to build cross-disciplinary alignment, explain technical choices clearly, and help teammates take on greater responsibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with pricing, subscriptions, entitlements, usage-based products, billing integrations, or growth platforms.
• Experience building demanding product or platform systems that supports learning the monetization domain.
