Distinguished Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States; must live in and be eligible to work in the US.

Salary: $265,000–$295,000 depending on experience, plus bonus.

What you will do

• Influence enterprise technical strategy, architectural direction, engineering standards, and modernization across products and teams.
• Architect, develop, and deliver AI-powered product capabilities, intelligent automation, LLM, RAG, AI agent, MCP, and agentic workflow initiatives.
• Write, review, test, and deploy production code while leading implementation of complex, business-critical software capabilities.
• Drive engineering excellence across Java, Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, CI/CD, DevSecOps, testing, and automation.
• Improve SaaS platform scalability, security, performance, resilience, observability, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
• Mentor senior technical contributors and advise Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, and executive stakeholders without direct management authority.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering complex enterprise software products and platforms.
• Distinguished Engineer, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Chief Architect, or equivalent senior technical individual contributor experience.
• Exceptional hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and enterprise application architecture.
• Deep experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise SaaS platforms, plus leading initiatives across multiple engineering teams or product areas.
• Proven experience building and delivering AI-powered software capabilities in production and using AI-assisted software development tools and modern AI engineering workflows.
• Experience with Large Language Models, RAG, AI agents, MCP, or comparable AI frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AWS or Azure, including cloud architecture, distributed systems, and AI integration capabilities.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, application performance, reliability, operational excellence, complex technical problem-solving, and critical production issue resolution.
• Ability to influence architectural direction and technical standards, mentor senior contributors, communicate with executive and technical stakeholders, and translate innovation into measurable outcomes.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through major engineering contributions, open source projects, publications, patents, industry recognition, or equivalent achievements.

• Salesforce technologies, APIs, metadata, DevOps workflows, or enterprise applications built for the Salesforce ecosystem.
• DevSecOps platforms, CI/CD tooling, release automation, or data protection solutions.
• Experience introducing AI-powered capabilities or agentic workflows into enterprise software products.
• Experience guiding major architectural modernization initiatives.
• Experience in highly regulated industries or security-sensitive enterprise environments.
• Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering and product teams.
