FPGA Prototyping Engineer

Location: Penang, Malaysia; on-site presence required.

What you will do

• Build emulation and FPGA models from RTL designs using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
• Develop, integrate, test, and debug hardware and software collateral across simulation, emulation, and FPGA environments.
• Write directed tests, create test environments, and develop hybrid emulation solutions for hardware and software verification.
• Define tools, capabilities, automation flows, scripts, and aids that improve emulation usability and accelerate RTL development.
• Collaborate with design, verification, and validation teams to optimize environments, test suites, and methodologies.
• Debug RTL tests, support SoC and IP bring-up, investigate testbench issues, and optimize emulator and FPGA environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 6+ years of hands-on experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years in emulation, FPGA prototyping, or related domains.
• Proficiency in RTL design, synthesis, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with emulation tools and methodologies, including FPGA prototyping, transactors, and performance optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of SoC integration and hybrid emulation environments, including virtual platforms and FPGA/emulation models.
• Expertise in developing automation flows, scripts, and aids for emulation processes.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with software and firmware verification tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of silicon power, performance analysis, and validation techniques.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
