Principal Analytics Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Shape analytics priorities and reporting approaches for portfolio businesses, connecting commercial drivers with leadership decisions.
• Lead complex reporting initiatives from requirements through adoption while working hands-on with data models, pipelines, dashboards, and engineering and data platform teams.
• Establish KPI definitions, ownership, validation, documentation, controlled changes, reusable metrics, and semantic context for reliable self-service and AI-assisted analysis.
• Diagnose performance movements, risks, and opportunities, translating analysis into recommendations for weekly and monthly business reviews.
• Partner with FP&A on financial core KPI reporting while respecting Finance ownership of financial definitions and reporting decisions.
• Coach analysts, improve team practices, share reusable approaches, and act as a senior analytics partner to business and technical leaders.

Requirements

• Senior-level analytics impact, including shaping ambiguous problems, leading complex initiatives, and influencing decisions across teams.
• Advanced SQL and strong data modelling skills, including maintainable analytical datasets and transformations across multiple source systems.
• Programming and automation skills for repeatable data preparation, analysis, and validation using a language such as Python.
• Hands-on experience with AI assistants and agentic workflows in analytical or coding work, including testing generated code, validating conclusions, and recognizing limitations.
• Experience delivering reliable reporting with cloud data platforms, transformation tools, and BI systems using version control, testing, and documentation.
• Proven ownership of KPI frameworks and reporting quality, including reconciliation, validation, and changes to definitions or sources.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar business domains, identify performance drivers, and balance reusable standards with business-specific needs.
• Experience coaching analysts, improving team practices, and sharing knowledge while remaining closely involved in technical delivery.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders, constructively challenging unclear requirements, and translating analysis into decisions and practical recommendations.

Nice to have

• Experience leading a small analytics team and supporting colleagues’ development and prioritization.
• Experience partnering with Finance or FP&A on financial KPIs, management reporting, reconciliation, or links between operational and financial performance.
• Experience developing shared metrics, semantic layers, or AI-enabled self-service analytics.
• Experience establishing analytics or recurring business reviews across multiple business units, particularly in software, FinTech, dealer services, or B2B businesses.
