AI & Automation Lead, Operations

Location: London, England; full-time hybrid

What you will do

• Map operational workflows with team leads, identify waste, and rank AI and automation opportunities by hours released and business value.
• Design and build practical AI agents and workflows, coach teams on simpler solutions, and partner with Engineering on larger or production-grade builds.
• Test solutions and connect them to approved tools and systems before launch.
• Own live agents end to end, including documentation, monitoring, security, maintenance, human review, agent registration and retirement decisions.
• Manage SOX-environment agents with Finance and control owners under change control, access control and audit-trail requirements.
• Drive adoption across operational teams and report hours released against an agreed baseline, including AI use in HR and recruiting workflows.

Requirements

• Business mindset with the ability to map workflows, identify waste and improve processes before deciding whether AI is appropriate.
• Proven delivery of AI agents, automations or workflow solutions in live business use beyond the prototype stage, with measurable results.
• Ability to build simple solutions independently and brief Engineering clearly on larger solutions.
• Sound judgment regarding data, access, accuracy, human review and ongoing maintenance, with comfort working within approved tools and security rules.
• Clear communication with non-technical colleagues and senior stakeholders, plus the ability to drive adoption without formal authority.
• End-to-end ownership, fast iteration and evidence of improved business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Claude, n8n or similar platforms.
• Transferable skills from other relevant tools or platforms.
