Account Specialist (Health Insurance)

Location: Remote telecommuter; hiring in specified United States states, including Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, with some limitations based on role or city.

Salary: $54,400–$87,000 national range; $62,000–$99,200 national plus range for higher-cost labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.

What you will do

• Coordinate and monitor internal and external timelines for new-business sales and renewals.
• Ensure producer and employer-group submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
• Coordinate with Underwriting and internal departments on benefit quotes, revisions, rate actions, and effective-date approvals.
• Attend or conduct employee meetings and benefit fairs.
• Research and resolve producer and group service issues, including root-cause analysis and support for complex cases.
• Maintain sales systems, account information, quotes, proposals, renewal exhibits, reporting, and participate in departmental projects or system user acceptance testing.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or two years of work experience.
• Three years of work experience, including two years in sales, benefit enrollment, benefit administration, or a related area, plus one year of customer service experience.
• Possess or obtain an Agent’s license within 60 days of hire and be appointed with the Office of Insurance Commissioner or Department of Insurance.
• Knowledge of Premera products, operations, policies, and underwriting guidelines.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three years of benefit administration, enrollment, and/or sales account structure experience.
• Experience with Seibel or other CRM applications.
