Field Capability and Technology Lead (Telecommunications)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home.

What you will do

• Lead the Field Operations transformation roadmap, including digitisation, automation, process simplification, and predictive operational capabilities.
• Establish and mature a Field Operations Planning & Orchestration control tower covering demand management, workflow, scheduling, dispatch, and workforce utilisation.
• Partner with Networks, OSS, Digital, and Automation teams to deliver integrated technology solutions and shape strategic roadmaps.
• Drive integration across workforce, network, asset, and workflow platforms while embedding automation-first and data-driven decision-making.
• Define performance frameworks, operational insights, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and service reliability.
• Strengthen operational resilience through business continuity, incident response, workforce capacity planning, recovery readiness, and executive stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience in telecommunications or another asset-intensive industry, with deep expertise in field and network operations.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale digital transformation, automation, and operational modernisation programs.
• Strong planning, orchestration, and systems-thinking capabilities, including experience managing complex workflows and competing priorities at scale.
• Experience balancing operational performance, customer outcomes, risk, safety, and cost considerations.
• Significant experience in technical planning, service management, and enterprise-governed operating environments.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across operational, technology, and leadership teams.
• Ability to lead effectively in high-pressure, incident-driven environments.

Nice to have

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
