Software Developer 1 (API Management Platform)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid role with an expectation to work from the Toronto office 3 days per week.

Base pay: CAD 94,000–127,000 per year, with potential eligibility for cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, use cases, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts.
• Develop assigned components of the API Management Platform with guidance.
• Participate in code reviews, incorporate feedback, and follow coding standards.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize architecture and code.
• Resolve defects and bugs across testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
• Stay current with industry best practices, share learnings, and experiment with emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational understanding of Agile development, object-oriented design, and programming principles.
• Coursework, internships, personal projects, or academic experience with one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C++.
• Basic knowledge of backend technologies, including Java- or Python-based stacks.
• Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Awareness of AI concepts and a basic understanding of Generative AI capabilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new priorities, tools, and technologies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of frontend web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with related frameworks or tools.
