Product Security Engineer II (CIAM)

Location: Remote within Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan, Canada. The role is open only to candidates residing in these provinces.

Base pay: $133,000–$183,000 CAD per year.

What you will do

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features, including smoother login experiences, MFA, step-up authentication, and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin for secure account access.
• Integrate Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock with web, mobile, and partner applications.
• Contribute to feature design, readable code, automated tests, code reviews, and production deployments.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and use logs and metrics to understand production behavior.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security partners while developing expertise in authentication and secure software development.

Requirements

• Ability to write, test, and debug software in Python, Kotlin, or a similar language through coursework, internships, personal projects, open source, or professional work; no fixed minimum years of experience is required.
• Foundational backend development knowledge, including APIs, data structures, databases, and version control.
• Curiosity about authentication and motivation to build secure, reliable customer experiences.
• Practical problem-solving skills, willingness to ask questions, and openness to learning through mentorship and code review.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and security teammates.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with identity protocols or CIAM platforms.
