Senior Revenue Accountant (Technology)

Location: Hybrid role in the RTP, North Carolina office; candidates must be located in the Raleigh-Durham area of the United States. Relocation and travel to meet hybrid requirements are not budgeted.

Salary: 100,300–118,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Analyze complex revenue contracts and transactions and apply ASC 606 requirements to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
• Perform monthly revenue accounting close activities, including revenue schedules, reconciliations, roll-forwards, journal entries, and close-package deliverables.
• Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies, research technical accounting questions related to new products, and document conclusions in memoranda.
• Review revenue contracts, identify accounting issues, provide recommendations, and perform forecasting, variance analysis, and month-over-month data analytics.
• Support SOX controls, internal and external audits, auditor inquiries, and revenue disclosures.
• Perform revenue analysis and monthly journal entries for Enterprise License Agreements, including related reconciliations and disclosures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting with a strong emphasis on ASC 606.
• Located in the Raleigh-Durham area of the United States to support the hybrid work environment.
• Experience with revenue recognition for complex contracts and transactions, preferably in the technology or software industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex contractual terms and apply accounting guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and communication of complex concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• CPA certification is strongly preferred but not required.
• Experience with Oracle and RevPro systems.
