Senior Services Revenue Accountant

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States

Base salary: $75,000–$175,000 USD per year; discretionary bonus may be awarded.

What you will do

• Review fully executed customer contracts, determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC 606, and ensure contracts are correctly entered into the accounting system.
• Review draft contracts and provide real-time accounting guidance to Legal, Customer Success, and Sales on contract structures.
• Execute and maintain the percentage-of-completion framework for forecasting and calculating monthly fixed-price project milestones and billings.
• Partner with Customer Success Operations and leadership to ensure complete and timely monthly data inputs.
• Own key reconciliations and reporting workflows during monthly and quarterly revenue close cycles.
• Support annual audits and quarterly reviews by preparing transaction documentation and identifying opportunities to automate manual accounting workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in project revenue accounting or corporate accounting.
• Deep foundational knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex financial modeling and data manipulation.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet and take full responsibility for recurring monthly deadlines.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or a Master of Science in Accounting.
• Experience using the percentage-of-completion method for fixed-price contracts.
• Hands-on experience with ERP financial systems such as NetSuite or SuiteProjects.
• Prior public accounting experience.
• Experience with enterprise platforms.
