Revenue Accounting Manager (ASC 606)

Location: Remote, United States

Compensation: $106,401–$272,520 USD annually, depending on U.S. geographic zone; total target compensation includes base pay and performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Own complex components of the monthly and quarterly revenue close, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analyses, and revenue reporting.
• Apply and interpret ASC 606, evaluating contract terms, performance obligations, variable consideration, usage-based fees, and consumption-based arrangements.
• Analyze revenue transactions and customer contracts for compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
• Support external audits and internal reviews by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and maintaining documentation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on products, pricing models, contract structures, and business initiatives affecting revenue recognition.
• Lead complex process-improvement projects, develop understanding of systems and data flows, and improve automation, reporting, scalability, and internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant revenue accounting experience and application of ASC 606.
• Strong technical accounting foundation with the ability to research, document, and communicate accounting conclusions.
• Ability to work independently as an individual contributor and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to adapt to new systems, tools, processes, and evolving business requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and other key Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and experience executing, documenting, or improving internal controls.

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent certification.
• Experience with ERP, revenue recognition, billing, CRM, or data analytics tools.
• Advanced Excel skills.
