Location: Remote within the United States; an in-person interview may be required during the hiring process.

Salary: USD $76,829–$142,213 per year, with state-specific pay scales and a California hiring range of $98,568.90–$120,473.10.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate-complexity homeowners property claims involving fire, water, weather, and other unexpected losses.
• Document damage using photographs, measurements, recorded interviews, imagery, and advanced video technology; prepare repair and damage estimates.
• Compare investigation findings with policy terms to determine coverage and extend or deny coverage as appropriate.
• Set reserves within settlement authority, negotiate settlements, and refer claims exceeding authority limits to a supervisor.
• Communicate with insureds and representatives through phone, email, text, and written correspondence while meeting Department of Insurance requirements.
• Manage claim inventory, expenses, workload, and files handled by independent adjusters through resolution.

Requirements

• Prior experience using estimating software such as Xactimate.
• Experience in a related field, including property claims, customer service, construction, restoration, or mitigation.
• Ability to obtain state-specific property claims licensing where required.
• Successful completion of the formal property claims training program, delivered in person, virtually, or in a combination of both.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited or no supervision while investigating, evaluating, estimating, negotiating, and resolving claims.
• Strong analytical, judgment, negotiation, organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and business tools and use video or photo inspection methods.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime when needed.
• Three to five or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred; a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
