Senior Process Engineer (Extrusion Manufacturing)

Location: New London, North Carolina, United States; onsite at the manufacturing facility.

Salary: $80,000–$126,500 USD base salary per year, plus participation in an annual bonus plan or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Develop and implement advanced manufacturing processes and process improvements at the Fiberon decking manufacturing facility.
• Develop process documentation, including one-point lessons, visual aids, and work instructions.
• Lead and execute data-driven process improvement projects focused on OEE and safety.
• Apply engineering best practices across the site and improve process controls, layouts, and ergonomic design.
• Work with state-of-the-art equipment, robotics, and existing equipment to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead shift process technicians directly and provide technical guidance to technical team leads indirectly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing process engineering experience.
• Proven continuous improvement experience using Lean Manufacturing tools, including Kaizen, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and 5 Why.
• Basic experience with project management tools.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Detailed knowledge of extrusion and material transfer.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Twin-screen profile extrusion experience.
• Composite manufacturing experience.
• Polyethylene (PE) experience.
• Experience with PLC and/or DCS control systems.
