Power Systems Automation Engineer

Location: Phoenix, Arizona; additional locations in Boise, Idaho; King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; and Houston, Texas. Full-time, US-based role with 25–50% travel depending on location.

Salary: $82,000–$193,900 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and teach expertise in power systems and SEL products.
• Support industrial power system customers through site visits, demonstrations, training, and calls.
• Provide innovative solutions to complex customer problems and independently support applications.
• Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software, technical literature, and customer feedback improvements.
• Present at marketing events, industry meetings, and conferences; teach SEL University courses.
• Publish application guides, software tools, course materials, and technical papers; review work and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in power systems and industrial applications in protection or automation, plus a fundamental understanding of metering.
• Ability to teach power system principles and concepts.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to identify and pursue improvements to the customer experience.
• Innovative mindset and willingness to encourage experimentation to find new solutions.
• Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others.
• Willingness to travel 25–50%, depending on location.
