Commercial Lines Underwriter

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States; hybrid work-from-home flexibility of up to 3 days per week after initial in-person training.

What you will do

• Apply insurance coverage, rules, and guidelines to execute underwriting decisions according to the company underwriting philosophy.
• Learn property and casualty insurance coverages, contracts, procedures, policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
• Assemble information, develop opinions, and clearly communicate underwriting decisions using sound reasoning and judgment.
• Analyze loss experience, financial conditions, and physical characteristics of commercial risks.
• Communicate with independent agents and associates through verbal and written channels.
• Participate in and successfully complete the company underwriter training program.

Requirements

• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Ability to organize data, multitask, and make decisions independently.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• Commitment to continually developing product knowledge through approved educational programs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property and casualty underwriting.
