Senior Claims Rep Total Loss (Hybrid)

Location: Richfield, Ohio, USA; hybrid schedule with on-site work four days per week and one remote day. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Manage an inventory of claims and evaluate compensability and liability.
• Plan and conduct investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages.
• Determine and negotiate claim settlements and reserves within assigned authority.
• Authorize timely claim payments within the applicable authority limit.
• Maintain accurate claim files, including correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• Represent the claims function at arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials and communicate coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience handling property and casualty claims.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, claims-handling procedures, industry laws, and regulations.
• Ability to organize and prioritize caseloads to ensure timely claim resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and lead negotiations.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work within significant limits and authority on assignments involving higher technical complexity and coordination.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Previous total loss experience in commercial auto.
• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC).
