Business Analyst (Agile)

What you will do

• Develop an understanding of mission and business objectives alongside software development practices and technologies.
• Capture, analyze, document, and manage functional requirements, non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and requirements traceability.
• Decompose features into actionable user stories and prepare work items for short, iterative development cycles.
• Lead backlog-refinement sessions, maintain team and iteration backlogs, and collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize work against business objectives and roadmap goals.
• Partner with the Scrum Master and functional subject matter experts to establish sprint backlogs, resolve impediments, validate scope, and confirm expected outcomes.
• Lead software demonstrations for stakeholders, communicate iteration results, and independently investigate and resolve problems.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Federal Secret security clearance; active clearance is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• At least five years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting iterative software development projects.
• Experience working with Agile or SAFe methodologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving, including the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve issues independently.
• Ability to work with clients to understand their needs.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Professional presence.

Nice to have

• SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, SAFe Practitioner, Certified Business Analysis Professional, or Agile/Scrum Master certification.
• Knowledge of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.
• Experience with SAP or a software development background.
• Experience using ServiceNow or Jira.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, drive problems to resolution, and build strong customer and vendor relationships.
• Experience complying with data standards and policies.
• Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
• Past experience working with a Federal government agency.
• Department of War experience.
