What you will do

• Manage and support MySQL database environments for large-scale, multi-tenant applications.
• Support database modernization initiatives focused on architecture, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance in production environments.
• Analyze and optimize SQL performance, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support MongoDB environments and maintain monitoring and alerting with Datadog and Grafana.
• Collaborate with application, engineering, and platform teams to implement database changes safely and improve reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in database administration, engineering, or database operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL and strong knowledge of SQL, including query analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience supporting databases for large-scale and multi-tenant applications, including database modernization and operations at scale.
• Working knowledge of MongoDB.
• Experience with production monitoring and troubleshooting using Datadog and Grafana.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Jira and GitHub.
• Familiarity with unit testing and API testing in an engineering environment.
• Understanding of secure coding and database security practices.
• Ability to work effectively with application development, platform, and engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree.
