Financial Control Integration Lead (SAP)

Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid working with office attendance 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month.

What you will do

• Coordinate Financial Control governance and oversight for the Oracle-to-SAP migration across accounting, reporting, controls, data, processes, and systems.
• Engage Financial Control business owners and subject-matter experts, coordinating required inputs, decisions, and signoffs.
• Manage actions, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, escalations, and leadership updates across programme workstreams.
• Coordinate finance reviews covering chart of accounts, financial reporting, period-end close, reconciliations, interfaces, and data migration.
• Ensure control, auditability, segregation of duties, and evidence-retention requirements are addressed with SOX teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate Financial Control input into testing, defect prioritisation, cutover, go-live readiness, and transition into business as usual.

Requirements

• Strong background in Financial Control and financial reporting, with experience representing finance requirements within a complex transformation programme.
• Sound understanding of accounting processes, period-end close, balance sheet controls, reconciliations, and the wider financial control environment.
• Ability to interpret detailed programme, process, and system information and translate it into practical finance implications, risks, and decisions.
• Demonstrable programme governance, coordination, and risk-management experience, including structured management of actions, decisions, dependencies, and escalations.
• Ability to evaluate proposed solutions, identify gaps, and provide constructive challenge while collaborating with programme specialists and external consultants.
• Confident communication with business owners, subject-matter experts, senior Finance leaders, transformation teams, and other stakeholders.
• Sound judgement in deciding when additional expertise, challenge, follow-up, or senior leadership attention is required.
• Ability to work across multiple workstreams while balancing detailed information with wider business and Financial Control priorities.
• Curious, proactive, and outcome-focused approach to ambiguity and change.

Nice to have

• Experience of ERP migration or Finance Transformation.
• Previous SAP implementation experience.
• Qualified accountant status or equivalent senior-level finance experience.
