Reporting and Controls Lead (Energy Services & Renewables)

Location: North West England, with a minimum of two office days per week at the Bamber Bridge, Preston office; the role can be based anywhere across the North West of England.

What you will do

• Deliver monthly management accounts and Group reporting within a four-day close cycle.
• Maintain financial controls, accounting standards, Group policy, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax deliverables, external audits, and audit coordination.
• Lead cash forecasting, working capital improvement, and project cash conversion.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team while partnering with operational, commercial, and Group Finance stakeholders.
• Lead the finance workstream for IFS ERP implementation and drive process standardisation, automation, reporting improvements, and adoption of new ways of working.

Requirements

• Professionally qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Significant experience in financial control, reporting, or a senior finance role within a global business.
• Experience in multi-entity and/or multi-currency environments.
• Strong experience with month-end close, balance sheet control, and management reporting.
• Experience in finance transformation and/or ERP implementations.
• Expertise in statutory accounts, external audit, and accounting standards.
• Proven people leadership and team development experience.
• Strong cash flow and working capital management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Demonstrable success improving financial controls, reporting processes, and operational efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience in project-based, engineering, energy, renewables, marine, or industrial services sectors.
• Working knowledge of IFS and/or Cognos.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams and international operations.
