Commercial Finance Lead (Finance)

What you will do

• Provide commercial finance insight, strategic analysis, and constructive challenge on business decisions, investments, operational efficiency, and project profitability.
• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles in partnership with the CFO and business leaders.
• Run monthly business reviews with Regional Directors, delivering KPI analysis, revenue modelling, and recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies, including best practice in revenue recognition and long-term contract accounting.
• Improve working capital and cash management while communicating complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Develop the finance team through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and continuous improvement of systems, processes, and controls.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent certification.
• 15+ years of experience in commercial finance, business partnering, and financial leadership roles.
• Essential experience in professional services or consultancy; built environment experience is highly desirable.
• Experience leading high-performing finance teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical and strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems expertise; experience with Dynamics 365 is desirable.
