Data Centre Technician (Data Centre)

Location: Malaga, Western Australia, Australia; onsite in a 24/7 operational environment with participation in a rotating on-call roster.

What you will do

• Support the Facility Management team with the day-to-day operation of the data centre and electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Assess, analyse, and mitigate OH&S, security, and critical facility-system risks using the hirify.global Risk Management Framework.
• Ensure best-practice installation of customer infrastructure, including power monitoring, rack security, and environmental controls.
• Monitor and diagnose system performance through BMS and related platforms, performing fault finding to minimise MTTR.
• Improve data hall monitoring for temperature, humidity, alarms, and power, and produce operational reports with recommendations.
• Support customer equipment handling, deliveries, assembly, training, compliance, professional development, and rotating on-call coverage.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts effectively.
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of data centre operations, including rack management, IT installations, cooling, and power systems.
• Willingness to build expertise in high-density power and advanced cooling technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of ITIL principles.

• Exposure to BMS and other service platforms.
• Relevant electrical, mechanical, or related trade qualifications.
