Tool Applications Specialist (Clean Energy)

Location: Fremont, California, USA; hybrid workplace with up to 50% travel to project sites.

Annual salary: $80K–$90K.

What you will do

• Perform bench testing and Fit, Form, and Function evaluations of new tools, permanent fasteners, consumables, and related products.
• Create and maintain traceable FFF documentation in Arena, including test results, observations, photographs, videos, and supporting materials.
• Launch and support field trials by traveling to project sites, providing product and application training, and monitoring initial performance.
• Collect field-trial data on work completed, tool and fastener performance, consumable service life, issues, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain trial logs, status reports, Jira cards, and communication with field teams, Tool leadership, and supporting teams.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field, implement corrective actions when possible, and document unresolved issues for further investigation.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on troubleshooting ability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in laboratory and field environments.
• Ability to prepare clear technical reports, maintain detailed and accurate records, and organize photographs and videos for technical documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing activities and field trials simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical findings to field personnel and leadership.
• Ability to provide hands-on product and application training in a field environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to use computers and learn software platforms for product documentation and project tracking.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanical, industrial, construction, manufacturing, or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial tooling and permanent fastening systems.
• Experience with product testing, validation, technical service, field support, or similar hands-on technical work.
• Experience with Arena, Jira, or similar systems.
• OSHA safety training or certification.
