Supervisor, Applications Engineering

Location: Remote in the United States, with occasional travel to the North Andover, MA office for meetings, training, or as required; up to 15% additional travel for customer visits, training events, and company meetings.

Salary: $112,000–$128,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8–12 Application Engineers delivering pre-sales engineering support and solution design.
• Manage application design and support coverage, workload, prioritization, response times, service levels, internal processes, and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on product selection, system configuration, application design, installation, integration, and performance optimization for commercial and industrial use cases.
• Support sales through application reviews, proposal development, presentations, customer engagements, and resolution of complex application challenges.
• Oversee customer-specific solution development and validation, technical documentation, application guidelines, and training materials.
• Collaborate with Product Management, NPD and manufacturing engineering, technical services, quality, sales, and manufacturing teams to communicate customer needs and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience in applications engineering, system design, or customer-facing technical roles.
• Strong background in product applications, system integration, and solution-based problem solving.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, or fluid system applications.
• Experience supporting sales channels with technical expertise and customer engagement.
• Ability to manage projects or processes beyond immediate responsibilities and work independently with little supervision.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with CPQ or quotation tools and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented, flexible, and strongly customer-focused.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with North American model building codes, including IPC, UPC, and ICC.
• Familiarity with product standards including ASSE, CSA, UL, and FM.
• SAP experience.
