Applications Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; the position requires a U.S. Person and may involve travel to customer sites.

Salary: $76,200–$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Analyze customer requirements, specifications, industry standards, and purchasing requirements to prepare compliant technical and commercial proposals.
• Develop detailed technical compliance matrices, clarifications, exceptions, and scope-of-work documentation.
• Convert complex requests for quote into executable purchase orders and provide practical solutions to technical engineering problems.
• Prepare cost estimates and identify vendors for required materials and services.
• Support pre-sales meetings, walk-downs, site visits, and customer discussions.
• Coordinate communication with customers, vendors, operations, quality assurance, outside sales, and management in a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person due to the nature of work performed at the site.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Four to six years of related experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, or related engineering roles.
• Experience supporting pre-sales activities, cost estimation, and proposal development.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into system plans and documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Ability to travel to customer sites as needed for technical support and implementation activities.
• Knowledge of basic engineering processes and procedures and experience in a highly regulated industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems; strong attention to detail is required.
