Applications Engineer (Nuclear)

Salary: $76,200–$85,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze customer requirements, specifications, industry standards, and purchasing requirements to develop accurate technical and commercial proposals.
• Prepare technical compliance matrices, clarifications, exceptions, and scope-of-work documentation.
• Develop practical solutions to technical engineering problems and translate requirements into system plans.
• Prepare cost estimates and identify vendors for required materials and services.
• Support pre-sales meetings, customer discussions, walk-downs, and site visits.
• Coordinate communication with customers, suppliers, operations, quality assurance, outside sales, and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Four to six years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, or related engineering roles.
• Experience with pre-sales activities, cost estimation, and proposal development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, oral, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of engineering processes and procedures, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems; ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
