Senior Business Analyst, IT

Location: Remote, must reside within the United States; Reston, Virginia preferred, with hybrid or remote work available.

Salary: $81,499.00–$138,549.00 per year.

What you will do

• Gather, clarify, organize, and document data-related and system requirements with stakeholders and technical teams.
• Create JIRA stories and tasks supporting client deliverables, product enhancements, operations work, and development operations work.
• Prepare business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and other concise system documentation.
• Facilitate communication and alignment among Product, stakeholders, marketing, developers, and other functional organizations.
• Support stakeholder meetings, track tasks, and assist project delivery using project management tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Science, IT, or a related discipline; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education.
• 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role supporting data-driven or technical systems, including requirements gathering, stakeholder collaboration, and translating business needs into technical solutions. A Master’s degree or PhD may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
• 2+ years of experience prioritizing multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and time-sensitive assignments and deadlines.
• Ability to work on software product development teams using Scrum methodology.
• Ability to understand data concepts and communicate nuanced topics to technical and non-technical audiences without performing hands-on development or data engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects accurately and independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.

• Experience gathering software requirements and defining data needs, system inputs, and outputs.
• Experience prioritizing multiple projects and meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
• Experience working in an Agile software development process.
• Experience supporting data-related workflows or systems.
• Knowledge and experience with JIRA and/or Confluence.
• Experience developing system documentation, tracking issues, and working with developers to ensure requirements are met.
• Experience defining and documenting business processes and software requirements in an Agile development process.
