Senior Test Engineer 2 (Semiconductor)

Location: Nantes, France; onsite role. Travel expected 0%–25%.

What you will do

• Specify, develop, debug, and optimize test programs for new MCU32 microcontroller products from initial concept through mass production.
• Contribute to Design for Test specifications and define test requirements and strategies with design, product, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Analyze test data, identify root causes of yield and quality issues, and drive corrective actions.
• Support product qualification, characterization, and reliability testing.
• Improve test methodologies to reduce cost and cycle time while increasing test coverage.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff, and prepare technical documentation and performance reports.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of semiconductor test engineering experience, preferably with microcontrollers or mixed-signal ICs including analog and memory IPs.
• Proficiency in embedded programming with C, C++, or Python.
• Solid understanding of hardware debugging, data analysis, and statistical methods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills in English and French.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of automated test equipment and test program development.
• Experience with the Cohu D1X tester.
• Experience with MCU32 architecture or similar microcontroller families.
• Familiarity with wafer sort and final test processes.
• Knowledge of test cost optimization and yield improvement techniques.
• Experience working in an international, cross-functional team environment.
