Systems Integration Engineer (Defense)

Location: National Capital Region (DMV area), with regular on-site collaboration in the San Diego area; all work takes place in secure facilities and requires 50% travel.

What you will do

• Build external integrations and data services for Target Effect Pairing on the Maven Smart System for USPACOM Joint Fires.
• Design schemas and develop REST, gRPC, and MCP interfaces aligned with the canonical data model.
• Build ETL and streaming pipelines, record linkage, and data lineage across command and control systems and a simulation engine.
• Prepare interfaces, test data, and tests before government approvals, then deliver both integration tracks as access becomes available.
• Make data from source systems to recommendations traceable and auditable, with measured confidence for record linkage results.
• Handle and document data across multiple classification levels without spills or rework.

Requirements

• Proven ability to drive progress and create clarity in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Ability to maintain required TS/SCI access; TS/SCI eligibility is required.
• Ability to work on-site in secure facilities and travel 50% of the time.
• Ability to participate in regular on-site collaboration in the San Diego area and communicate effectively in person and through approved electronic means.

Nice to have

• Experience designing schemas in Protobuf, JSON Schema, or Avro for use by several teams.
• Experience building REST or gRPC services; MCP server experience is also useful.
• Experience running ETL and streaming pipelines in production.
• Experience implementing record linkage or data lineage and measuring their accuracy.
• Experience handling data at multiple classification levels in Department of War environments.
• Experience integrating with systems outside your control under a government approval process.
• Experience integrating with Maven Smart System or command and control systems.
