Senior Software Engineer II (Elixir)

Location: Remote - USA

Base salary: $163,600-$204,500 per year for most U.S. locations; $184,000-$230,000 per year for candidates in NYC, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle. Variable compensation may also apply.

What you will do

• Own product and technical initiatives from design and scoping through implementation, launch, and iteration.
• Build reliable systems for real-time scheduling, client booking, marketing automation, and business management tools.
• Partner with Product and Design to understand customer problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop technical solutions.
• Contribute to architecture while balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and delivery speed.
• Build across frontend, backend, event-driven systems, or end-to-end product areas using the relevant expertise.
• Maintain software quality through testing, code review, observability, production support, mentoring, and AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production applications.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to design clean, maintainable solutions to complex problems.
• Experience independently taking meaningful features or technical initiatives from definition through production.
• Experience partnering with Product and Design to understand customer needs and turn them into effective technical solutions.
• Systems-thinking ability to build extensible patterns rather than one-off features.
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs, make sound engineering decisions, and communicate the reasoning behind them.
• History of effective collaboration with engineers and cross-functional partners, including contributing to the growth of other engineers.
• Eagerness to learn unfamiliar technologies and solve new problems; prior Elixir experience is not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elixir, PostgreSQL, AWS, EventBridge, SQS, Oban, GraphQL, React, TypeScript, React Native, Terraform, Datadog, Snowflake, or AI coding agents such as Claude Code.
