Senior Software Engineer (Portal Application)

Location: US Remote

Salary: $125,600–$157,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve microservices for a provider-facing web portal.
• Participate in technical implementation decisions and guide product managers, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product managers from requirements gathering and ideation through design, release, operation, and maintenance.
• Design, build, and maintain highly available systems supporting business applications, providers, and patients.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, improve engineering processes, and promote best practices.
• Support QA activities and compliance initiatives involving HIPAA and PHI.

Requirements

• BS degree in computer science, a comparable program, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of overall software development experience, preferably with secure, scalable web applications using NodeJS, TypeScript, React, and other web technologies.
• Experience with front-end development and the software development lifecycle, including build, software configuration, change control, release, and deployment.
• Extensive knowledge of Test-Driven Development and/or Domain-Driven Development, and experience with service-oriented and microservice architecture.
• Experience building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and expanding software in AWS, including EC2, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, and S3.
• Experience with GraphQL and REST API design, event-driven architecture, and distributed event stores such as Kafka.
• Experience with enterprise microservice architecture, cross-platform integration, and scalable applications in heterogeneous environments.
• Strong relational database design and optimization skills, plus SQL and NoSQL experience including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with Linux fundamentals, object-oriented programming, JavaScript, AWS services, infrastructure as code, Docker or container technologies, CI/CD with GitLab, front-end technologies, and quality assurance practices.
• Demonstrated teamwork, analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Regular access to PHI and completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy, general compliance, and security training within the first 30 days; current hirify.global training status must be maintained.

• Java programming experience.
