What you will do

• Deputise for the CTO in product and programme meetings, reviews, and decision forums, communicate decisions clearly, and follow up on commitments.
• Build a current understanding of programme dependencies, critical paths, and interfaces across engineering, production, quality, and AIT.
• Identify bottlenecks before they become schedule or cost problems and drive resolution with responsible teams.
• Take ownership of programmes that have drifted, define corrective paths, and return them to a credible trajectory.
• Provide technically grounded visibility into programme health and emerging risks that are not yet reflected in plans.
• Spend time in laboratories, on the shop floor, and in AIT to form an independent assessment.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or a comparable technical discipline, with several years of hands-on engineering or programme experience in aerospace, space, defence, or another complex hardware environment.
• Experience delivering or recovering hardware programmes with real technical, cost, and schedule risk, ideally through development, industrialisation, or ramp-up.
• Understanding of how complex technical programmes fail and ability to identify constraints before they become critical.
• Technical credibility to follow design reviews, production-readiness arguments, and AIT non-conformances without needing to be the deepest expert in the room.
• Ability to work through influence rather than line authority and earn the trust of VPs, the Chief Engineer, and programme leads.
• Clear and direct communication at executive level, both in writing and in meetings.
• Fluent English.
