Risk and Change Manager

hirify.global is a European fusion company and spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, developing the hardware and infrastructure for commercial stellarator fusion power plants.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain the Alpha risk register across infrastructure, manufacturing, and machine workstreams, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation ownership.
• Own the end-to-end change control process, covering intake, schedule, cost, and technical impact assessment, approval routing, and change-log maintenance.
• Coordinate with the Cost Controller and Programme Schedule Manager to keep accepted changes reflected consistently across all baselines.
• Prepare risk-adjusted schedule and cost inputs for release-gate decisions, including mitigation status.
• Run regular risk reviews, escalate emerging risks early, and build governance standards that scale across Alpha and Stellaris.
• Support the PMO reporting cadence alongside the PMO Analyst/Coordinator.

Requirements

• Experience in risk and change management on major capital programs in energy, industrial, research infrastructure, or similarly complex multidisciplinary settings.
• Ability to build risk and change frameworks from scratch and establish effective governance.
• Ability to maintain change discipline with internal engineers and external partners through analytical rigor and clear communication.
• Comfort working with high autonomy while program structure is still being established.
• Fluent English is required.
• Familiarity with AI tools and digital ways of working, with the ability to adapt quickly in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• German language skills are a strong advantage due to the contractor and regulatory landscape.
