Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering)

Location: Wren Hall, Selby (North Yorkshire), United Kingdom; based at the Drax site on the Eastern Green Link 2 project.

What you will do

• Manage project commercial activities to ensure quality, timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and added value.
• Collaborate with joint venture partners, clients, project managers, designers, site teams, and supply chain partners.
• Lead contract negotiation, contract vetting, subcontract documentation, subcontractor management, and commercial strategy.
• Monitor cost performance data, prepare monthly and quarterly reports, and manage payment applications.
• Provide commercial advice on contractual issues and prepare financial assessments of insurance claims.
• Manage, supervise, mentor, and coach direct reports within the commercial structure.

Requirements

• Successful experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or as a Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next career step, with effective core commercial skills.
• Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach direct reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the project team, including clients, project managers, and designers.
• Confidence and ability to work in a team environment and positively influence outcomes.
• Relevant qualification such as a degree, HNC, or HND.

Nice to have

• Experience with FIDIC forms of contract.
• Early Contractor Involvement experience.
• Experience with target cost contracts.
• Relevant professional qualification such as CICES or RICS.
