Product Manager (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and business success of robot arms from concept through series production.
• Define, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog with Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, and Software, making trade-off decisions based on customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact.
• Align Hardware, Software, Sales, and Business Development in a matrix organization and translate technical complexity into clear product direction.
• Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities in industrial automation and collaborative robotics.
• Co-lead product launches, define positioning and feature sets, and drive product-level safety, regulatory, and certification requirements such as CE and TÜV.
• Document decisions and trade-offs, report priorities and risks to the CEO and C-level, and represent the product to investors, partners, customers, and at trade fairs.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• 5–8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally in robotics, automation, or complex mechatronic systems, with a proven record of taking hardware products through their full lifecycle to series production.
• Solid understanding of cobot mechanics, kinematics, sensor systems, and industrial communication standards such as EtherCAT, Profinet, and IO-Link.
• Understanding of product-level safety, regulatory, and certification requirements.
• Familiarity with Scrum or SAFe and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities through transparent prioritization and expectation management in a matrix setup.
• Entrepreneurial ownership, strong prioritization and decision-making skills, and the ability to base decisions on data and customer needs.
• Resilience and effectiveness in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Professional-level fluent English and precise written communication for requirements, specifications, escalations, status reports, and risk reports.
