Senior Software Product Manager - Embedded & Real-Time Systems (Automotive)

Location: Munich, Germany; Bucharest, Romania; Austin, United States, or another flexible NXP location.

What you will do

• Own the roadmap, strategy, execution, and delivery of low-level real-time software, including drivers, BSP, RTOS, virtualization, firmware, system management, and security.
• Translate OEM, Tier 1, and systems requirements into product features, priorities, and trade-offs across timeline, quality, performance, safety, security, and scalability.
• Drive system bring-up and hardware/software integration, including boot and power sequencing, peripheral enablement, system firmware, and safety and security frameworks.
• Coordinate Software R&D, Applications Engineering, Product Engineering, and Systems Engineering through ownership, dependency management, readiness tracking, and mitigation planning.
• Lead delivery from pre-silicon bring-up and NPI through customer deployment and maintenance, including customer enablement and design-win support.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software lifecycle tools and define AI-driven customer experiences and workflows.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in embedded software, automotive systems, or a related field.
• Strong low-level software background covering drivers, bootloaders, firmware, and BSP.
• Experience with AUTOSAR, RTOS, or Zephyr environments.
• Experience in product management, technical leadership, or system architecture.
• Solid understanding of system bring-up and hardware/software integration challenges.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive SoCs or industrial systems.
• Familiarity with functional safety under ISO 26262 and security under ISO 21434 and HSE.
• Experience with CI/CD and OTA-based software delivery.
• Experience enabling AI-assisted development tools and AI-driven developer and customer workflows.
• Customer-facing experience with OEMs or Tier 1 partners.
