Senior Materials & Logistics Specialist

Location: Bristol and multiple mobile sites across the UK; regular travel across the UK is required for on-site materials and logistics support.

What you will do

• Manage warehouse and materials-control operations at designated warehouses, work sites, and client facilities.
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, allocation, marshalling, movement, loading, and shipment of materials and equipment between suppliers, work locations, and project sites.
• Monitor warehouse performance, labour utilisation, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, stock checks, shortages, surplus, and preservation of stored materials.
• Prepare shipping documents, goods receipts, manifests, materials-status reports, and procurement/project status reports.
• Coordinate the supply and delivery of fabrication items, small plant, tooling, equipment, and consumables, resolving supply issues with project personnel, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
• Coach staff on operating procedures and safe working practices, including inductions and toolbox talks, while ensuring compliance with project plans, budgets, legal requirements, and supply-chain procedures.

Requirements

• Qualified to ISCED Level 3 (Upper Secondary).
• Manual handling and forklift licence experience are essential.
• Telehandler licence is essential.
• At least 3 years of materials or logistics experience, demonstrating results and progression to a similar management position.
• Detailed industry experience with exposure to material-control and logistics concepts and principles.
• Previous experience using ERP systems.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office tools.
• Good interpersonal, planning, organisational, logical-thinking, methodical, adaptable, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate activities, prioritise the workload of self and others, work under pressure and independently, meet deadlines, and mentor junior colleagues.

Nice to have

• Dangerous Goods by Sea and Air qualification or experience is not essential and is role-specific.
• HGV licence is not essential and is role-specific.
