Inventory Team Leader (Logistics)

Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire, England, United Kingdom. Warehouse-based role working across different shifts, including weekends depending on operational requirements.

What you will do

• Lead, allocate, and monitor the daily work of the Inventory team, setting priorities and ensuring timely completion.
• Plan and deliver cycle counts, stock checks, location audits, stock takes, reconciliations, and other inventory-control activities.
• Investigate missing, excess, damaged, incorrectly located, incorrectly labelled, and system-variance stock, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Coordinate with Inbound, Outbound, Returns, and Operations teams on stock queries, system issues, exceptions, and inventory adjustments.
• Manage attendance, performance, training, coaching, reporting, and day-to-day conduct for Inventory Operatives.
• Support audits and stock takes while maintaining Health & Safety, security, quality, warehouse, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse operations is essential.
• Strong understanding of stock counting, reconciliation, stock investigations, and inventory accuracy controls.
• Experience using WMS, ERP, or warehouse scanning systems.
• Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Confident communication skills and ability to work effectively across operational teams and with agency colleagues.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Ability to work different shifts, including weekends when operationally required, and to operate MHE when trained and authorised.

Nice to have

• Previous team-leading or supervisory experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
• A valid MHE licence, such as Reach Truck, Counterbalance, or VNA.
