Senior Specialist Financial Lines Claims (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid in New York, Chicago, or Plano, United States

Salary: $99,000–$186,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Provide technical guidance and analysis for complex and high-value financial lines claims.
• Assess policy coverage, investigate and evaluate claims, and negotiate settlements.
• Manage a portfolio of complex or high-value claims and handle customer complaint escalations.
• Implement and maintain claims management strategies while maintaining knowledge of insurance guidelines and policies.
• Build relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and partners, and support team development through senior technical expertise and mentoring.
• Improve processes through negotiation and dispute resolution.

Requirements

• Moderate relevant work experience.
• Tertiary degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Analytical thinking, critical thinking, problem solving, and sound judgment.
• Knowledge of insurance policies, policy interpretation, insurance claims management, claims settlement, and insurance analysis.
• Negotiation, risk management, business process improvement, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a claims department or the insurance industry.
• Experience handling claims within the relevant line of business.
• Juris Doctor degree.
